I Almost Got Kidnapped as a Kid

Before I launch into my story, I would like to say I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. Blogging is so fun in a way that probably only people who blog understand. I have so much fun blogging I want to quit school and do this for the rest of my life. I also like looking at how many people view my blog everyday, because then it makes me feel like I have this undetected potential, if that makes any sense. I also have Feedjit on my blog for a reason, so I can see where people are viewing m blog from. Like New York and California?? So cool. I also want to blog everyday, because I can talk and then people read. To the story... I've told this story to some people, because I thought it was important. But here is the long version of it...

Around the time when I was a small child, 4 or 5, I really don't know. My family had rented out this storage space, you know, like Self-Storage. This one garage space we had to store our stuff in was outside. That day, I suppose my parents were storing stuff and what not, I was riding my little plastic tricycle. This was also in the storage, but I got it out and started riding on the street. Here is a picture that is something like it so you have a setting in mind. Disclaimer: This is not where I was

I was riding up and down this long corridor of storages. My brother was tagging along, he was probably 2 or 3? I can't remember that much. The same time we were doing our storage stuff and riding tricycles, there was another family doing the same thing. They weren't riding tricycles of course, but they were doing the same storage shenanigans like us. While I was riding my tricycle, this lady from the family started talking to me. Pause. I was 4 or 5 remember? Barely learning in school. They didn't even teach us about stranger danger until first grade. What did I know? Being the little kid I was, SO TALKATIVE, I started talking to this lady. Now you may be wondering, what were my parents doing in all of this? I remember vividly out of my peripheral vision that they were busy moving boxes, they weren't paying too much of an attention to their two kids. There I was, riding my purple and pink tricycle, talking to this white lady stranger. She asked me if I wanted to help her go pick up some boxes in the front with her in her car. If this was kids nowadays, I'm pretty sure they would say no, because of lessons their parents taught them. I really wanted to go, because riding a tricycle repeatedly around the same area is quite boring. The lady said it would be really quick and we would come right back. She also mentioned that her daughter was up there too. I'm pretty sure she was implying that her daughter is the same age as me, but I thought she was 20 or something. This has nothing to do with anything, just details in the story. Then she stopped talking and got in her car. It's like one of those small cars. She rolled down the window and asked me again if I wanted to come. I thought. Then the answer everyone wants to hear, no. I told her no, I didn't want to go. Phew. She drove off and didn't come back, surprisingly. Now, the reason behind my answer. I told you already, I didn't learn stranger danger, and my parents probably thought I knew better. But that's not true. I'm just a girl who wants to ride her tricycle. Just so you know, the tricycle was in the storage for long periods of time, because we lived in an apartment and didn't have space for a girl to ride something like that around. It has been a long time since I rode that tricycle, so I wanted to get all the time I wanted. The reason I said no was because I just simply wanted to ride my tricycle. That's it. The simple desire to be a kid had saved my life. What if I didn't have the tricycle? Would I have gone with the lady? I don't know. I told this story to my mom about a year ago, and her reaction was hilarious. She was all like, Annie that's very dangerous. It was 8 years ago! All that matters is that I'm here now, not locked up in a basement or something.

And that is my kidnapping story! I also have another story where I thought I was going to get drugged/poisoned when I was again, around 5 or 6. So if you liked this story from my childhood, please comment below and mention that you want the second one! Bye!!

How lucky that you would have rather had ridden your tricycle, it's such a scary thought that you could have been kidnapped!
